    Hi Matthew, thanks for reaching out!

    iOS devices have a feature called Background App Refresh. What this feature does is constantly “refresh” any apps that are open to keep the content up to date. Since the Covenant Eyes VPN is picking up all internet traffic, that activity gets sent to us. It’s possible that some of the apps on your device refreshed during that time and generated those DNS Connections. A couple things you can do would be to turn off Background App Refresh for any apps that you do not want it on for (except for Covenant Eyes!). You could also force close apps when you’re finished with them.
