Desktop Apps can no longer connect to the internet

Jackson

Ever since I installed covenant eyes, a lot of my desktop apps can no longer connect to the internet. This is maybe a good thing in the case of the Windows Store, but Spotify is essentially useless to me now. I don't understand why Spotify can't connect to the internet even when I can use Chrome and other browsers just fine. I can find no setting for this or anything that says Covenant Eyes is doing this, but it never happened before I installed Covenant Eyes. What might be happening here?

    Hello Jackson,

Thanks for your question. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing that issue. Besides Spotify what other apps are experiencing this problem? Generally speaking Covenant Eyes shouldn't be blocking apps or programs from the Windows Store regardless unless URLs connected to those services have been added to the block list. Are any other filtering services being used on the device? Is any DNS being enforced on a router level or are any optional advanced protections from your ISP or router currently enabled? Are you using a VPN on that computer? Does Spotify need to be updated? Do any of the other apps that aren't working properly need to be updated? Any of those can potentially affect what is happening on the computer. If this were affecting your ability to browse I would simply say we have a connection issue.  But the fact that browsing is allowed without issue complicates this.

I'm more than happy to continue troubleshooting with you here on the forum Jackson. However, if you would prefer more immediate assistance I might recommend contacting our Member Care Team. They can be reached at 989-720-8000.  Thank you again and I hope you have a great rest of your day.
