Not sure if it’s already been mentioned but I found better VPN performance after disabling iCloud Private Relay. Definitely not ideal, but hopefully that narrows down some issues.
I signed up for Covenant Eyes a couple months ago. Several times per week the VPN prevents me from using my phone normally. It doesn’t ever work on private networks (like airplane Wi-Fi). This isn’t a viable solution for me. I have to turn off the VPN in order to make my phone work. I’ve removed it for testing and my devices work great.
Choose a different server location in your VPN app. Some servers may have better compatibility. I also face this issue while playing BGMI app.
Hello Eric,
Thanks for your comment and I'm sorry to hear about that problem. It sounds frustrating. We may have a solution for you though. I'd like to see if switching to our newer upgraded VPN fixes any of your connection issues. The next time you install and set up Covenant Eyes on your iPhone let's try these steps.
First, open the Covenant Eyes app on your phone. Next, tap the silhouette icon in the top right. Then, tap "Settings". On the Settings screen toggle the switch labeled "Use Beta VPN" to ON. With that done let's see if your connection issues persist. For many connection issues that should resolve it. However, if your issues continue I would recommend calling in to our Member Care Team at 989-720-8000 or by chat on our website so we can properly troubleshoot and resolve the issue for you.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
Daniel Are there more details on what exactly the Beta VPN has/does differently than the regular VPN?
Hello Saad,
Thanks for your comment. I will let you know that while Covenant Eyes is installed the VPN cannot be switched or changed so switching "server locations" would not be possible. If you are experiencing connection issues while Covenant Eyes is installed on your iOS device I would also recommend that you follow the same steps I recommended to Eric in this thread.

Hello Zachary,
Thanks for your question. I'm not sure what specific details you'd want to know about the new VPN. I will say that our original VPN on the iOS platform is comparatively older and the new VPN has been upgraded to work better with today's mobile networks. I can also share that I have seen most connection issues be resolved when folks switch over so if you are experiencing connection issues I would recommend trying it out. If the problem doesn't get better or somehow gets worse you can always switch back.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
