Hello:
I am having the same issue but only in my computer. My Android phone is doing well with the VPN, but my PC (windows 10) is useless with the filtering and accountability services on. I'm am very frustrated because this services is the best that I have found, but is frustrating to have the Services ON and experiment connection issues every 2 o 3 seconds. To revise my email y need to restart the router like 10 or 20 times, because it doesn't want to connect in a stable way. To send this message through the Covenant Eyes webpage, it was necessary to call the administrator, explain to him, disable the service. Immediately, I regain stable access to my wi-fi connection and then wrote this message looking for help. The issue for me is that this is my home PC. I am unable to call you on week days, because I don't have off day in the week. I saw that you have a VPN fix. It is possible that you send me the instructions to that fix in my email to try fix this annoying problem for good? It is truly disappointing to be paying every month for a service that only serves half. I say halfway, because it works on my phone, but not on my main home computer.
Hello Jovani,
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing that connection issue. That sounds incredibly frustrating. I'm also sorry to hear that you cannot call in as that would have been my first recommendation so my member care team can troubleshoot the connection issue with you. I will let you know that the VPN fix is something for the iOS platform specifically. It would not be applicable to a Windows computer as we do not run a VPN on Windows.
If the only way you can get online on that Windows computer when Covenant Eyes is installed is to have your administrator disable the filtering service then that would strongly suggest that there is a filtering conflict happening on either the device itself or the network or router your device is connected to. Do you happen to know if your router or ISP has any optional filters or advanced protections enabled? If so, trying removing or disabling them to see if that clears the connection issue.
Do you know if your computer has any additional third party filtering software installed besides Covenant Eyes? If so try removing that and see if that allows for a connection. I'm sorry if these troubleshooting suggestions are somewhat vague. Without being able to discuss the specifics these are just general suggestions to check for on that computer and network.
Let us know if there is anything further we can to assist with resolving this connection issue. You are welcome to continue posting here in the forum but we can also respond to you via email, chat on the website, or over the phones. Thanks again for your comment and I am sorry that you are experiencing that issue.
Same issue. No or spotty internet when I’m not on wifi. Particularly frustrating as I spend a fair amount of time in my car for work and I can’t use navigation, receive emails or texts, can’t stream music or podcasts.
Please resolve the issue and stop with the excuses. The app is great when on wifi but it will be deleted if this persists.
I am having similar issues. I work where I lose cell service and WiFi frequently. I have to delete the app and reinstall to be able to use my phone as designed by Apple. This puts all of use at risk since the app does not alert our accountability partner that it’s deleted, why doesn’t it alert them? This is not an issue with my phone, it also happens on my iPad and clearly it’s a common issue across all users. Please don’t respond telling me it’s specific to my device. Please address the issues and make an app that works.
I’m having this issue now
After months of having this problem, the Covenant Eyes support person finally told me that Covenant Eyes will not work on the tablet if there’s anti-virus soft wear on it as well, saying, “There unfortunately is not a way to force Anti-Virus and Covenant Eyes to work together.” I am canceling Covenant Eyes and asking for a refund. The app has been more cost and frustration than help.
I’m having horrible problems with this too !!!
Hello Jordan,
Thanks for your comment. I'm sorry to hear that you are experiencing that frustrating issue. If you have the time I would honestly recommend either contacting us via chat or by calling our Member Care Team at 989-720-8000. If your issue is happening on an iOS device then there is an excellent chance that we'll have a workable solution for your connection problem. I would encourage you to call in and one of our representatives can walk you through switching over to the new VPN. This only takes a few minutes and seems to be resolving most of the connection problems folks have had on their iOS devices.
Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
Reading these comments from as far as 8 months, I’m a new user. But same issues. Apps work here and there and load web pages very very slow, if at all.
Hello Shawn,
Thanks for your comment. And I'm very sorry to hear that you are experiencing those issues. If they are happening on your iOS device I'd like you to try switching to our newer VPN if you haven't already done so and are willing to try it. Let's try these steps on iOS.
If, after switching to the new VPN, you are still experiencing connection issues or slowness please do reach out to our Member Care Team at 989-720-800 or the chat option available on our website. Thank you again, and have a great rest of your day.
Hi Daniel,
I am having this issue as well after changed to iphone11. I have tried reinstalling and the issue persisted where it limits my access no matter I’m on my mobile data or wifi. I have also tried using the beta vpn as well. Please help..
Same problem for me. The VPN breaks Safari internet access completely. Weirdly, the Covenant Eyes browser is unaffected...
I ended up turning off the VPN altogether. Haven't had an issue since. Still have all the screen shot-based accountability. That was really what I needed.
I have this issue as well. Every new session on my phone, I have to turn off and back on the VPN to be able to connect to the internet within any app. If I need to connect, I will have to go to Settings > Flip off VPN > wait till it disconnects > then turn it back on. At this point, I can usually use the internet in any app, but once I lock my phone and open it back up, even if it is just a few minutes later, I will have to do this all over again.
I also notice my hotspot no longer works, and I can't send messages to Androids at times unless I do this same process.
Please help me solve this issue. I love the protection this app adds, but it is making my phone almost unusable at times.
Hi Matt,
Thank you reaching out. I’m sorry to hear you’re experiencing that — it certainly sounds frustrating. We’ve had a few members report this issue, and our team is actively working to resolve it. In the meantime, we do have a workaround that has been successful for most members.
We recommend uninstalling the Victory Shield app, restarting your phone, and then reinstalling the app.
Also, please note that if you have any other VPNs installed on your iPhone, they could contribute to this issue as well.
If you’d like further troubleshooting assistance, we recommend reaching out to our Member Care Team at covenanteyes.com/contact-us
Thanks again for letting us know you are experiencing this.
