Can I download Covenant Eyes app on an old iOS version?

First off, wanna start by saying; thank you so much to the whole Covenant Eyes team. You guys are amazing and I pray God blesses you all. I got a new iPhone 5s for my birthday 🥳 I went to install the Covenant eyes app on it, but it says I need “iOS 14.0 or later”. Is there an older version of the app I can download? (12.5.7 and down) I used to own another iPhone 5s a few months ago, (before it broke lol), and I ran an older version of it just fine, so I’m hoping I can do that again 👍 Thanks so much! -Asher

    Hello Asher,

Thanks for your question and also thanks for your kind words and encouragement. We really do appreciate it. There is a possible way to get an older version of Covenant Eyes installed on that phone if certain criteria are met. If a person has ever had Covenant Eyes installed through that same Apple ID and they have a device, they should have access to the newest version of the Covenant Eyes app that their device will support. If anything about that changes then, sadly, there is no other way to get an older version of Covenant Eyes installed on an older phone. In case this one possible scenario applies to you I will include steps on how to do this below.

This process only works if the member's device is signed in with an Apple ID that has previously "purchased" (downloaded and installed) the Covenant Eyes app for iOS before. If the Apple ID signed in has not "purchased" the Covenant Eyes app before, it will not allow the member to install an older version of Covenant Eyes and will only tell them they need to update their version of iOS to download Covenant Eyes.

    1. On the iOS device, locate and open the "App Store" app.
    2. From the App Store, tap "Today", tap the profile picture icon in the upper right, then tap Purchased. If Family Sharing is setup on the device, you will additionally need to tap "My Purchases".
    3. Locate the Covenant Eyes app, then tap the get/download icon.
    4. The App Store should display a message asking if you want to download an older version of the app. Click "Download".
    5. After the app has finished downloading and installed, tap the icon to open it, enter your username and password, and tap "Sign In".
    6. Complete the setup as you normally would for Covenant Eyes.

I hope this was useful for your situation Asher. Thanks again and have a great rest of your day.
