iOS 26.3.1(a) Security Update causing the Victory Shield VPN to flash off/on
There is a background security update for iOS version 26.3.1 (released 3/17/26) that some of you may have automatically received over the weekend. This particular update seems to be causing the Victory Shield VPN to flash off and on, which can result in some browsing/connection issues on your iOS devices.
If you're experiencing this flashing VPN issue, you can uninstall and reinstall the Victory Shield app, this should correct it.
Additionally, if you are curious if you received this security update, you can check on your device by going into the Settings app > General > About > next to your iOS version if you see an (a) that means you did get the security update.

Could this issue cause a notification to be sent to my ally?
Hello Mike,
This particular issue should not have sent a notification to your ally. We do report when our VPN has been manually turned off and back on, but we do not report it when it flashes like this. If for some reason your ally did get a notification and you think it could be related to this security update, it's possible that could be a bug. I would suggest contacting our Member Care department if so and they can look into this further!
