App is too easy to disable without accountability through the advanced accessibility settings on Android.

This app works great on my pc. Not on my phone. I shouldn't be able to easly disable it through the accessibility options on my android phone. At minimum it should let my accountability partner know something is off. It's something you should fix because it surely affects a lot of people like me. Please find a way to fix it. Thank you.

    Hello João,

Thanks for your question and I'm sorry to hear about that frustration. One possible solution for you would be to use the Covenant Eyes® app's App Locking feature to lock down access to the Settings app on the phone. Doing so would prevent a person from going into accessibility and changing things within the phone's settings.

In case it might be helpful, this article walks you through setting up App Locking on the Android™ device. If you have any additional questions or concerns please do let us know. Thank you and have a great rest of your day!

For CE developers, I would suggest that you consider Canopy’s methods of preventing removal on Android. Does CE lag behind because CE wants to play nice with Google? IMO, Google will never “like” CE, no matter what CE does. For anyone who needs better removal prevention than turning off settings (!!), I suggest you pay for Canopy (canopy.us).

I say the above as a LONG time user and cheerleader for CE.

Hey guys, I had the same problem for a long time. App block helps a little but on some mobile devices (some particular brands) it was still possible to bypass and reach the accessibility menu.
Recently I was told by the helpdesk of CE that this is solved by building in a tool that automatically blocks the accessibility menu. Before buying an Android phone now (at the moment I have an IPhone), I want to be sure that CE blocks accessibility even in pop - up menu’s.
That someone try the newest version of CE?

Follow Up: I tested CE on a Samsung Galaxy A15: Im indeed directly rebooted to CE when I try to reach accessibility, but more over, I discovered that they implemented the best solution: when you turn off accessibility, a notice appears in the Victory App that your ally can see you turned off CE!!

    Hello Emelia,

Thanks for your comment. I have what should be some good news about that. If the Android in question has an up to date version of Covenant Eyes installed then our app does indeed notify allies whenever someone disables the software through the accessibility feature within the settings app of the phone.

You can learn more about that alert by clicking this article here
