How does filtering work with search engines?

When you type a word or question into a search engine, it will help you find relevant websites, images, news, and more! The most popular search engines are Google.com, Bing.com, and Yahoo.com.

Using Search Engines


The Covenant Eyes filter is website-based, so its primary function is blocking explicit websites. So our filter is good at blocking pornographic websites, but the filter cannot weed out every graphic image and video within a search engine’s results page. 

It may be helpful to pair a family-friendly search engine with our filter so you can limit explicit image and video results.

Family-Friendly Search Engines


A search engine with 100% clean results does not exist. But you can use a family-friendly search engine and set it as your default search engine. Here are some free search engines:
