How do I install Victory Shield™ on a Mac®?

Before You Begin


  • Compatibility: The Victory Shield™ Mac® computer software is compatible with macOS® (Mac® operating system) 11 Big Sur or newer.
     
  • Potential Filter Conflict: If you plan to use Apple’s Screen Time’s Web Content Restrictions with Victory Shield™ filtering, please follow the steps in this article to allow Victory Shield™ and prevent a conflict.
     
  • VPNs: If you use a VPN on your Mac® computer and also subscribe to our filtering service, you may experience connectivity issues after you install Victory Shield™. If that happens, remove the VPN or remove filtering.
     
  • Administrator Profile: You must install Victory Shield™ on the Mac® computer’s Administrator profile, or you may experience issues. If you need to, you can log out of your profile and log in to the Mac® computer’s Administrator profile.

Download & Install Victory Shield™


  1. Go to victory.covenanteyes.com/downloads and log in with your username and password.
     
  2. Click “Mac®" and then click the “Download” button. (You may receive a pop-up message requesting permission to download Victory Shield™. Select "Allow" if prompted.)
  3. Open the Finder app (the half-blue & white face) on your dock.

  4. Click on “Downloads” and then double-click on “VictoryShieldMac.dmg” (or it may say “Victory ShieldMac[number].dmg”)

  5. Double-click "Install Victory Shield” to open it.

  6. Click “Allow.”
  7. Click “Continue.”
  8. Click “Continue.”
  9. Click the “Continue” button.
  10. Click “Agree.”
  11. Click the “Install” button to begin the installation process.
  12. Type in your Mac computer password and click the “Install Software” button.

  13. Click “close.” If prompted to restart your computer, save any unsaved work, close all your applications, and restart.
  14. Click “Keep.” (The installer can be helpful for troubleshooting purposes if issues arise later.)
  15. Victory Shield™ may prompt you to sign in now. If you do not see a login box, our program may have remembered your username and password from a previous installation and logged you in automatically.

Allow Notifications


Victory Shield™ will prompt you with two alert banners to allow notifications.

  1. Click "Options" on the notification and select “Allow.”

Set Up Screen Accountability


  1. Click “Continue.”
  2. Click "Open System Settings."
  3. Click "Open System Settings" again.
  4. Move the toggle switch for Victory Shield™ to the right to turn it on.
  5. Type in your Mac® computer administrator password and click "Modify Settings."
  6. On the pop-up screen, click "Quit & Reopen." The switch for Victory Shield™ will now be blue.

  7. Click "Done." If you use our Blocking service (website filter), continue to the next section of this article. If you only use our monitoring service (Screen Accountability), you successfully installed Victory Shield™ and you're all set!

Set Up Blocking


This section is only for members who use our website filter, which blocks explicit websites. You may see a Setup Code M063, and following the steps below will help you fix it.

  1. Click "Continue" to start setting up Blocking.
  2. Click “Allow.”

  3. Click “Open Security Settings.”
  4. Move the toggle switch for Victory Shield™ to the right.
  5. Enter your Mac® Administrator computer password and click the “OK" button.

  6. The toggle switch for Victory Shield™ will now be blue, meaning it's on. Click the "Done" button. Great work! You installed Victory Shield™. You can click the "Done" button on the prompt at the top of the screen.
