To use a public network, you must accept the network's terms & conditions page and sign in to Victory Shield™.

Connect to the Public Network

Follow these steps to connect to a public WiFi network:

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. Select the desired WiFi name from your available connections.
  3. Open a browser and type in a website you never visit, like go.com, into the address bar.
  4. Your attempt to visit a website you’ve never previously accessed on your computer should prompt the network’s terms and conditions page to populate. Accept the terms and conditions.
  5. Check Victory Shield™ on your home screen and see if you’ve been automatically signed in. If you haven’t, quickly sign in to Victory Shield™.

If the above steps didn't help you connect, and if you use our filtering service, temporarily remove the filter from your username. Then try steps #1-5 again. Then, re-add the filter after you have connected.

Try Switching from a Mobile Hotspot

Switching from a mobile hotspot to public WiFi lets the computer prompt you with the WiFi network’s terms and conditions page.

  1. If you can turn your phone into a mobile hotspot, turn it on, and then try to connect your computer to it.
  2. After a few moments, switch your connection to public WiFi.
  6. Turn off your mobile hotspot if your computer is now connected to the public WiFi network.
